International Showdown at Cybergroup BeachCupEuropean Teams Will Be Taking Part for the First Time at the 6th Edition of the Industry Sporting Event
In about three months, the promotional articles industry will be meeting for the sixth time to compete on the sand. On Saturday, 24 June 2017, the 6th Cybergroup BeachCup will be held at Ketsch in Baden. Starting at 09:30 am, the first day of the beach volleyball tournament will be played on four fields, and in the early evening, the well-known venue in Walldorfer Straße will be open for team training. The warm-up, as in past years, will be accompanied by a hearty barbecue. But there will be important change to the competition line-up: for the first time in the history of the exceptional event, there won’t just be German teams competing, but also teams from the rest of Europe, specifically teams from Italy and the United Kingdom. But that doesn’t mean we’ll be accommodating our guests with a leftward rotation… ;) – as always, we’ll be rotating clockwise.
A total of 32 teams will be competing in the disciplines of ball control, stamina and team spirit in 2017. And while cyber-Wear suppliers, partners and employees face off on the field, the players’ friends and families will be doing their part on the stands: visitors coming to cheer their teams and celebrate with us are expressly welcome but need to register in writing in advance. We’re expecting around 550 fans for this year! As a matter of honour, the kits for all the teams will once again be designed and provided by cyber-Wear. As in previous years, the matches will be refereed by professionals, and the players will once again be provided with physiotherapists and masseuses who will gladly tend to tired and injured muscles for a voluntary donation to the Waldpiraten (“Forest Pirates”), a Heidelberg project for children suffering from cancer.
For the second time in a row, the event will be hosted by Kevin Gerwin. The man on the mic is just as experienced as the stadium announcer for the handball Bundesliga team Rhein-Neckar-Löwen in the SAP Arena as he is as an established commentator of Karlsruher SC football matches for a local radio station. He belongs to Kaya Yanar’s comedy team, and in the past year, he celebrated his debut as an RTL commentator. But first and foremost, Keven qualified through his hosting of the 2016 BeachCup! DJ la Dous will once again be responsible for the music programme, so the speakers are doubly certain to provide pure motivation. And speaking of music: the Players’ Night including the award ceremony will take place directly after the BeachCup at the boat house in Mannheim starting at 8 pm.
