Using grass for packaging

A further important step in the direction of sustainability: our new 100% environmentally-friendly and recyclable mailing bags made of grass paper are gradually replacing their forerunner the plastic bag.

cyber-Wear are getting greener and greener and are now making a further big step towards sustainability. Up until now, the usual polythene bags have been used for sending out smaller shipments, but that will soon be coming to an end. We will gradually be switching over to the use of 100% environmentally-friendly and recyclable grass paper mailing bags. The new mailing bags are particularly resource-efficient and environmentally-friendly and have a natural colour and feel. They also come with a block bottom and side gussets, and a glued-on flap with a broad self-adhesive strip to seal the bag.

"We are very aware that everything we do as a company has an impact on the environment and on the climate.  That's why we have committed to a step-by-step plan to make our products and processes more sustainable," Roman Weiss, CEO, tells us. With the move into their new headquarters in Mannheim in 2019, Cybergroup set themselves high standards in terms of social and environmental responsibility, and firmly anchored these standards in their corporate philosophy. When it comes to shipping, the goal of becoming "environmentally-friendly" is at the top of the agenda. In coordination with a number of their customers, cyber-Wear now use the DHL, GLS and UPS environmental protection programme in order to reduce the level of CO2 emissions generated through shipping. The programme focuses on avoiding, reducing and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions. The top priority is to reduce CO2 emissions, which, in terms of overall logistics operations, have the greatest adverse effect on the environment.
